Bad Habits By Mikayla Burrus From a message by Pastor Eddie B. Pruitte

Pastor Pruitte preached a message about how as people of God, we still may develop bad habits. He used the example of Samson and how he had some bad habits himself. Samson’s strength increased because he was keeping the covenant. However, his bad habits were leading him in the wrong direction. Listening to the message I decided to think of things from my perspective and reflect on some bad habits I may have.

During the message Pastor Pruitte stated, “Bad habits might not be a sin, but they can still lead you into sin.” That statement really stuck with me because as a young person growing into a young adult, I may not always think what I am used to doing is wrong. But later, I find myself in a tough position like Samson did when he gave in to temptation.

As I am growing and getting closer to adulthood, I have made it my goal to put an end to my poor habits and poor decision making. Because of his bad habits, Samson got involved with someone who had no good intent on his life. Someone that wished to destroy him and his gift from God.

The one thing I will forever take from this message is that I will not let anyone that the enemy has put in my path take advantage of me because of my bad habits. My prayer is that I will become more aware in realizing that not everyone has my best interest in heart and that I will grow stronger in my relationship with God.
