Eddie B Pruitte, Jr. was born in Aurora, Illinois on July 30, 1961, to Deacon Eddie B Pruitte, Sr. and Missionary Annie Louise Pruitte. In his youth, he was known as “Little Eddie B.”
As a result of his parent’s dedication, he was reared in Mount Olive Church of God in Christ, under the leadership of Bishop William H. Bonner. “Little Eddie B” was active in that church until the Lord impressed upon his father to begin a work—Mount Victory Church of God in Christ, in Batavia, Illinois.
Young Brother Pruitte served faithfully with his father in several capacities; Choir Director, Youth Pastor, Finance Committee, and most notably when he was appointed Sunday School Superintendent at the age of 14. The Lord blessed and impressed the young Superintendent to start a Bible Memorization Program that was soon adopted by the New Fellowship District and subsequently the State Sunday School Department of the Sixth Jurisdiction of Illinois.
Young Brother Pruitte received the baptism in the Holy Ghost September 13, 1983. He accepted his call to the ministry in 1984 and was ordained by Bishop W. H. Bonner in January 1988 in Chicago, Illinois. That same year he married a beautiful saved woman by the name of Vivian Valdez. They have been blessed with four beautiful daughters: Daelena Saylene, Delia Tiarra, DeAnna Gisela-Louise, and last of all Deloris Elyse, born on her daddy’s birthday.
After graduating from the University of Illinois at Chicago with a Master’s degree in Public Administration (1988), Elder Pruitte relocated to the Washington DC metropolitan region where he served at the Gethsemane Church of God in Christ in Alexandria, Virginia under the leadership of Supt. Lloyd C. Coles, Jr.
In 1998 the Lord impressed upon Elder Pruitte to dig out a work in his community—the Dale City/Woodbridge area. As such, Elder Pruitte, his wife and daughters held the first service for Holiness Tabernacle Church of God in Christ in their family room.
Since then the Lord has honored His Word and tremendously blessed Pastor Pruitte’s labor. Many souls have saved, healed, and filled with the Spirit of God. The Lord has also added several souls to the work and we are a thriving congregation that advocates true holiness teaching and doctrine. If you visit HTC today, you will truly witness a New Testament Church. Many say, “This is how the Church of God in Christ used to be…” As in Bishop Mason’s day, our membership is multi-racial (African-American, Caucasian, Hispanic, Middle Eastern, etc.) and the Spirit of the Lord moves mightily. You’ll hear great singing and music, powerful testimonies of victory, and an anointed Word from the Lord.
The Lord has truly favored HTC under the leadership of our pastor. We have been given several acres of property on which we are planning to construct our future home.
Pastor Pruitte and Holiness Tabernacle serve in the historic First Ecclesiastical Jurisdiction of Virginia under the leadership of Bishop Ted Thomas, Sr. During the 92nd Annual Holy Convocation, Bishop Thomas appointed Elder Pruitte as the Assistant Superintendent of the Great Northern District where Elder Tony H. Campbell serves as the Superintendent.
We truly thank God for the shepherd that he has given to watch over our souls. Through this ministry, souls have been saved, bonds have been broken, and deliverance received. We are expecting God to continue to do a wondrous work in this ministry as we go forth in advancing the kingdom of God. We anticipate great things and we invite you to share in this great work!
